Displayed in our office is a copy of the very first Metro Super Saver (shown left). It is a reminder of how much we've grown and how much more sophisticated our advertising solutions have become.
Market America Corp. was founded in 1991 by its owner, Jim Traeger, after graduating from college with a B.A. in International Law and a B.A. in Communication Theory.
Jim set out to run for politics. During the campaign he went to a business meeting and asked business owners what a politician could do for them. They said that one of their main concerns was the high cost of advertising. While driving back to the campaign headquarters, Jim came up with the idea to start something that would help small to medium sized businesses afford advertising. Back at the campaign office he told his treasurer about his idea, a company that would be called Market America Corp.
Investing his paper route money and golf ball money he earned as a child, he begged his father to invest in St Jude Medical. After College, he used that money to purchase an 8 month lease and a computer.
Working nights at a hotel and days at his run down office, he kept overhead down by cleaning the office building bathroom. His philosophy was simple: keep overhead down, so he could charge less and still deliver the best quality and service. (Best quality, best service, at the best price.)
Through the years Market America Corporation has gone from a $40,000 year in gross sales to over $1.8 million. They are now a full service direct mail advertising agency who designs ads for customers at no charge and provides other design and printing services for the lowest prices around.
Best service, best quality, at the best price has made Market America Corp. and The Metro Super Saver #1 in direct mail advertising in the Twin Cities. With 95 % retention they have succeeded on great response.

In 1988 The Metro Home Guide was launched, and rearranged in 2003. With a new name, The Super Saver Deluxe, it became a successful direct mail resource for home improvement, realtors, etc. to get their message out.
